Hello Duane, I was just looking at your web site and checking out some of the links. I didn't realize how much good publicity your rod has gotten. I’m really looking forward to taking it down to Everglades City and giving it a try.
I hadn’t noticed when I sent off my order that a 10 pound Spinning Light Touch rod was available. I’ve ordered the 2lb, 5lb and the stock or standard up to 25lb. I guess once I get the rod and have tried it out I will order the “Light Touch” and the counter weights, I kind of missed them too.
I have a wide assortment of fishing available to me down here in southern Florida and all the equipment to cover it. I primarily purchased this to take in the saddle bags of my Harley, kind of what it was designed for according to an interview I watched linked from your web site. I’ve never been happy with the small breakdown rigs. Yeah, there OK for real light fishing but can’t handle many of the aggressive species we have down here like the rainbow bass in the Glades or the jacks and yellowtail just offshore. I hadn’t thought about the canoe until you mentioned the problems of a long pole in a kayak. I have this sailing rig on my canoe and I like to troll the edge of the mangroves this rod is going to be perfect for that.
This is going to be a blast, thanks for putting your mind around this and coming up with a real fishing system.
